Gear

Tier 31 Tier Set Bonus

  • 2-piece Bonus: Feral Frenzy grants Smoldering Frenzy, increasing all damage you deal by 20% for 8 sec.
  • 4-piece Bonus: Feral Frenzy's cooldown is reduced by 15 sec. During Smoldering Frenzy, enemies burn for 10% of damage you deal as Fire over 10 sec.

Our Tier Set this time around interacts with the Talent Feral Frenzy and effectively does nothing without so it NEEDS to be talented in all scenarios.

Our 2-Set Bonus grants us a buff that increases all damage we deal by 20% for 8 seconds, while the 4-Set Bonus reduces the cooldown of Feral Frenzy by 15 seconds and also makes the buff granted by the 2-Set Bonus also make us cause an addition 10% of all damage we deal as Fire damage over 10 seconds, an effect very similar to Berserk: Frenzy.

This Tier works out to be roughly a 13% dps gain compared to having to Tier Set equipped at equal Item Level.

With such an obviously Burst Damage focused Tier Set, it should be obvious that you want to fit as much damage into those 8 seconds as possible.

Feral Druid Best in Slot Gear

You should still prioritise the gear you use by running a sim for your character, but the lists below will give you a good idea of what items are considered good for Feral Druid, and help you target the right content for each piece of loot. In Season 4 you can buy every item with Antique Bronze Bullions so even if you don’t raid, you can obtain BIS loot.

Notable Gear in Season 4

Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame: Your best in slot weapon (always subject to Item Level). Macro to Berserk, and use on CD (it’s off the GCD so just press Berserk again).

Seal of Filial Duty: The two Fire rings are BIS, as our tier set (Burning Frenzy) can proc the effects, as well as certain items like our BIS weapon. This one provides a powerful absorb which will be incredibly valuable for Feral in both raid and M+, and the ring can go up to 535 item level. Prioritise this one.

Seal of Diurna's Chosen: See above: this Fire one procs free damage.

Ashes of the Embersoul: BIS trinket with Convoke, use in raid and M+.

Neltharion’s Call to Suffering: BIS stat stick, use in M+, or in raid if you don’t want to run Grieftorch.

Manic Grieftorch: This should be the highest value trinket in raid, especially early on when clearing due to deaths in your raid resetting the trinket. Even without any resets from deaths it more or less sims as the 2nd best trinket behind Ashes.

Cataclysmic Signet Brand: Fantastic passive 2nd trinket option for longer fights, 5+ and getting better and better the longer it goes.

Whispering Incarnate Icon: About equal to Neltharion’s as an alternative stat stick, but requires a tank and healer in your raid to also equip. Good if you want to run double stat sticks for M+.

Voice of the Silent Star: Sark Cloak should be low priority for Dinar and only use when you have the raids on farm, as it reduces your health (do not use in M+ either!).

Fyrakk’s Tainted Rageheart: Defensive trinket option strictly for high-keys, lose damage but also allows lets your healer do more DPS and minimises your time sitting in Bear etc.

Storm-Eater’s Boon: This is very niche and may only be playable in a few keys, if at all, but does big damage if you can pull it off (keeps you stationary for its duration, meaning you can’t avoid any swirlies or mobs being moved away). You can always Bearform and/or Survival Instincts with this if needed too.

S4 Dinar/Bullion Order

Raid Priority:

  1. Manic Grieftorch
  2. Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame
  3. Ashes of the Embersoul
  4. Seal of Filial Duty
  5. Seal of Diurna's Chosen
  6. Neltharion’s Call to Suffering
  7. Voice of the Silent Star

Mythic+ Priority:

  1. Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame
  2. Neltharion’s Call to Suffering
  3. Seal of Filial Duty
  4. Seal of Diurna's Chosen
  5. Ashes of the Embersoul
  6. Manic Grieftorch
  7. Fyrakk’s Tainted Rageheart
  8. Whispering Incarnate Icon

Notable Crafted Gear

Torc of Passed Time: Best slot to craft BSL on (see below).

Life-Bound Bindings: Best slot to craft BSL or Shadowflame on (see below).

We do not craft on Rings in Season 4 because we have access to the Fire rings again.

Embellishments

Blue Silken Lining: using 2x BSL is by far the best option for M+, and in most cases the best option for raid as well. Always craft on either Wrist, Neck, or Back. If you are planning to run the Sark cloak in raid, you can just focus on crafting on Wrist and Neck.

Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch: is an alternative for raid when your BSL uptime is low (below 35%). You can craft these on Wrist or Back.

You should not craft any other Embellishments in Season 4.

Recommended Crafting Order for Season 4

Crafting order is pretty straightforward in Season 4.

  1. Craft Neck or Bracers with Blue Silken Lining.
  2. Craft whatever slot you didn’t craft on next, or alternatively can craft on Back if your focus is M+.
  3. Later on you can make Shadowflame for the occasional fight where you might have bad uptime (Council of Dreams or Fyrakk comes to mind).
