Naturium Is Definitely Worth the Hype—Here’s What Our Editors Think (2024)

At only five years old, Naturium has solidified itself as one of the most sought-after skincare and body care brands on the market. The company’s budget-friendly pricing and high-quality, dermatologist-approved ingredients have made prioritizing self care extremely accessible. Founded by beauty expert and YouTuber Susan Yara, Naturium offers everything from body balms and facial cleansers to tinted moisturizers and SPF. Amid its success, the company was acquired in August 2023 by e.l.f.—which also owns e.l.f. Cosmetics, W3LL PEOPLE, and Alicia Keys’ Keys Soulcare. Yara revealed that the acquisition would allow the brand to reach new heights. “We’ll have bigger distribution and fewer problems with keeping products in stock. You don’t want to always be out of stock on some of your best sellers; you want to be able to get your products to people,” she told Glossy.

If you’re not immediately familiar with the brand, you may recognize its hero product, the Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Wash, which has sold more than 1 million units since its launch, per Glossy and WWD. I first tried the wash after seeing it go viral via TikTok and after testing daily, I quickly understood why. The formula, which includes glycerine, upcycled apple extract, squalane, jojoba seed oil, and vanilla extract, feels like satin on the skin—which is especially beneficial to someone like me who suffers from dry skin. Even after toweling off, my skin feels hydrated and moisturized. I also appreciate that the product doesn’t feature a strong scent.

“I find that a lot of body washes leave me feeling clean, but not hydrated. Thankfully, that’s not the case when it comes to the Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash. It lathers so nicely on the skin and leaves a serum-like feel that lasts long after I’ve showered—especially after following up with the brand’s Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter. The Brightener Vitamin C Brightening Body Wash

What it is: “Our silky, gel-cream brightening vitamin C body wash is formulated with gentle, yet effective surfactants, plus ascorbyl glucoside—a highly stable vitamin C derivative, bioactive fruit acids, and enzymes. Formulated to help banish dullness and reveal softer, smoother and healthier-looking skin. Developed for all skin types, and gentle enough for daily use,” according to Naturium.

“I get a little nervous about using body wash with active ingredients, but this one was pretty straight forward. It left me soft and silky, all while feeling really gentle on my sensitive skin. However, I don’t know if I’m going to continue to reach for it because of the strong orange scent. The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Body Butter

What it is: “Our whipped, multi-oil body butter intensely moisturizes, nourishes, and soothes skin. “I love a good body butter, and this is one of the best I’ve ever tried. It’s thick, but not too thick, and lathers on nicely without leaving a white residue. I go in with a healthy amount, and I find that my skin remains moisturized throughout the day. I suffer from extremely dry skin—namely on my feet—and this keeps them from cracking and looking ashy. Bio-Lipid Restoring Unscented Body Lotion

What it is: “A restoring body lotion that works to replenish moisture, leaving skin feeling soft and supple. Formulated with omega fatty acids, shea butter, B vitamins, and sodium PCA, this lotion hydrates skin and absorbs quickly with no greasy residue,” according to Naturium.

“I have dry and sensitive skin, so it can be hard to find a lotion that moisturizes me without irritation. This Bio-Lipid Restoring Body Lotion left me feeling soft and hydrated without being harsh on my skin. Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm

What it is: “A cleansing balm is formulated with purple ginseng, plant-based esters and a nourishing blend of linoleic-rich oils that help to dissolve makeup, oil, sunscreen, and other impurities,” according to Naturium.

“This balm takes off my makeup so efficiently—especially when it comes to mascara, which is usually so stubborn. A little goes a long way, you just need to add water. What it is: “Our AHA Exfoliating Mask 10% is formulated with glycolic & lactic acids to instantly resurface & brighten skin, improving the appearance of skin texture,” according to Naturium.

“I used to be obsessed with Naturium founder Susan Yara’s YouTube page. She taught me the dangers of overdoing it with scrubs, and I’ve been ever so careful since. So, when I learned the brand was coming out with an exfoliating mask, I was extremely excited. As soon as I opened the lid, I knew this mask was different from others on the market. While the formula features the familiar grainy texture, the tiny little beads are light. The mixture feels like it’s been whipped almost. On the face, it’s cooling and doesn’t tighten or harden like other masks when drying, which is especially good for my skin as clay-like masks are extremely difficult to remove and leave me with redness and irritation. Multi-Peptide Eye Cream

What it is: “A silky and lightweight eye cream is formulated with peptides to help smooth and improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles, for a more refreshed and well-rested appearance,” according to Naturium.

“It spreads evenly and beautifully. It’s not a watery or gelly eye cream, but it still absorbs well and quickly. There’s no strong fragrance, which I appreciate. It has hyaluronic acid and squalane, so it’s also very hydrating. I also really like is the packaging. UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF 50 Broad Spectrum Sunscreen

What it is: “A sheer sunscreen formulated with organic chemical sunscreen filters that protect against broad spectrum UVA/UVB rays with an SPF 50 PA++++ rating,” according to Naturium.

“Okay this is an amazing SPF, for this price and otherwise. It’s a little liquidy, so you do have to watch for it to not slip down your fingers as you bring it to your face.
