Another vid that might interest you.... If Porsche are indeed taking this action it causes me to wonder about other remanufacturers. I suspect RUF may have a different status with Porsche..?

this goes back to when Singer launched their Off road ACS and proclaimed it a Porsche, as all the jorno's were sipping champagne
Singer Vehicle Design has removed its ACS off-road 911 from its official website and Facebook page after Porsche complained about the large ‘Porsche’ lettering on the privately commissioned car.
Singer’s ACS (All-terrain Competition Study) was released to huge international acclaim in January, winning fans all over the world, but then, as we noticed last week, it mysteriously disappeared from the company’s website and Facebook page.
Porsche’s legal department was less than excited about its name appearing on the jacked-up 911 and asked Singer to pull all media of the car until the situation was rectified.
Porsche was in a tricky situation. Being seen to come over all heavy with a small operation with a huge global following like Singer could potentially generate bad PR for the German company. But it had to protect its brand name and asked Singer to withdraw the car until the branding issues were fixed.
this is now something bigger

And Porsche files to dismiss ..
Sounded like some over zealous corporate lawyers looking to crush a minnow, I’d suggest it would have looked very heavy-handed to the average man in the street.
Better to have a quiet word than to unleash the legal eagles …

Or it worked a treat and they got what they really wanted without needing to progress the legals ?

We’ll never know whether Singer initially refused to cooperate , or whether Porsche served a notice on them without any prior discussions…
Either way, it’s a non-story.

That’s kind of a given (especially knowing how protective Porsche is of its brand/IP)
But I meant the whole Singer going head to head with Porsche in court is now a non-story.

If Singer did a re imagined Ford Capri there is no way they would get 10x the value of a decent classic Capri. Ergo the Porsche brand is leveraged and it’s not actually theirs..Ferrari would probably have stopped it years ago. We are in a world where brands get built by clicks and views, if youngsters grow up unable to differentiate between Porsche and Singer and then go on to think Porsche cars need “re imagining” it’s a problem. Singer should be under licence IMO.
